-Dead Space...A Game Review-

So, I've never been compelled to give a game review before, but I think I will this time.
I recently picked up "Dead Space" for the PS3. Now, I've haven't really played any first person shooters since Doom 3 (well...I guess you couldn't call Dead Space "first person" because it's a 3rd person, over the should perspective, but you get my drift). I was starting to find them boring, and was just concentrating on Wii games. But I had been reading some reviews about DS, and watched some cinematics of it on YouTube, and it looked pretty cool, so I picked it up.
All I gotta say is, wow. The game graphics are just beautiful. You really get sucked into the environments. Just as equally beautiful are the sounds. This is definitely one of the most tension filled games I've played, and the sound effects really shine here. The creature designs are awesome. Some pretty twisted stuff. What's equally twisted, is that in order to kill these things, you have to dismember them limb by limb, which is extremely fun I must say. :D The story is pretty good also. Nothing really out of this world. And the voice over actors do a good job.
All in all, this is one of the better games I've played in a quite some time. In a world filled with fps and survival horror games, this one definitely shines at the present moment.

I personally stay away from the horror genre of both movies and games, but watching Dead Space in action had a strange sense of allure that Resident Evil failed to do for me. I kinda liked the game as well, and the numerous possible death scenes always proved delightfully (if not sadistically) entertaining

Hey man, good to hear from you. Haven't heard of dead space but will be sure to check it out.

I'd like to try Dead Space, but unfortunately money's tight, and my stupid Blockbuster Video membership has some kind of problem I need to tend to. Maybe there's a demo on XBL I can download.

It's on my list, but I'll be getting it on PC. Apparently, the PC controls are dogshit, but if you persevere it's a great game despite that. Hopefully, a patch will turn up by the time I get it which will improve Mouse/Keyboard support.

Yeah that game was definitely badass! What is your PSN ID so I can add you as a friend. Also, also if you have an XBL gamertag, let me get that as well.

Eh, not my cup of tea. I'm more the RPG type. :) Used to play the old TSR Dungeons & Dragon back when MS-DOS was the top operating system for desktops. :D

Ewww, I'm showing my age again. =P

I use to play D&D and rpg's back in the day when I was younger. Now that I'm older and don't have the amount of time available to put into an rpg anymore, I'd rather just sit down with a game where I can blow stuff up ;)

Yeah. I'm on chapter 8. Been loving it. I don't have my ps3 hooked up to the net yet. I'll make a journal with an id when I do.
